S’áxt’ is Tlingit for Devil’s Club. 
Devil's Club earrings design by Crystal Worl on laser cut frosted acrylic.  These have the upgraded tarnish resistant Argentium® silver ear wires with hypoallergenic rubber ear nuts. Hand assembled in Alaska at the Trickster warehouse.
Every Alaskan living in southeast probably has childhood memories of the challenges of walking through a patch of devil’s club with their spikey stems and leaves!  

S’áxt’ or Devil’s club, has been important to the Tlingit people of Southeast Alaska for both traditional medicine and ceremonial purposes.  The Tlingit still use s’áxt’ to treat ailments like rheumatoid arthritis and adult-onset diabetes. It’s typically prepared as a tea, but can also be used in ointments and poultices.  This precious medicine is powerful & sensitive to over harvest, so it is important to only harvest what is needed.
